General Services Organizations

These organizations offer multiple services and/or referral to more specific services offered by other organizations. They are a good first-stop for individuals looking for health-related services.

Alliance Behavioral Healthcare is the gateway to all of the local mental health, developmental disability and substance abuse services in Durham County.

Breastfeed Durham is a health equity advocacy group that aims for every family in our community to understand the benefits of breastfeeding and to make the right decisions for themselves.

Durham Congregations in Action lists resources related to housing, food, financial assistance, and clothing. 

Durham County Network of Care is an online resource of agencies that serve children, youth, adults and seniors.

Durham’s Partnership for Children coordinates educational and child care services in Durham County.

The Durham Center for Senior Life provides key programs for older residents, including Social and Senior Center Services, Congregate Nutrition and Adult Day Health Services.

Project Access of Durham County serves eligible low-income, uninsured Durham residents who have specialty medical care needs.

Project HELP loans durable medical equipment to Durham residents in need at no cost.

Senior PharmAssist helps older adults with limited incomes obtain and better manage medications and provides Medicare counseling to any beneficiary – regardless of age or income.
