Strategic Engagement for Action & Transformation

Description

Strategic Engagement for Action & Transformation (SEAT) is a committee that partners with health-priority committees to uncover and address the root causes of health challenges in Durham County. SEAT focuses on improving systems and structures that lead to better health outcomes for everyone in our community.

Working collaboratively, SEAT guides committees through a structured, action-oriented process:

  1. Define the problem
  2. Identify who is currently involved
  3. Build shared knowledge
  4. Review relevant data
  5. Understand how the issue affects Durham residents
  6. Map local assets and resources
  7. Identify existing gaps
  8. Propose and plan targeted interventions
  9. Evaluate progress and impact

Through this approach, SEAT helps create sustainable, community-centered solutions that support a healthier Durham for all.

SEAT meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 10:30-11:30am on Zoom. Our meetings generally include collaborating with a Partnership committee through a process that analyzes root causes and provides support to address those causes.

Meetings are open to the public. Community members are encouraged to attend. For meeting dates and times, see our calendar.
